On another positive note, as much as I hate the Eagles, our boy Kolb looked great in his game against the Chiefs!

Super Bowl Sunday and I’m thinking UH Cougars football. I’m sure everyone knows recruit signing day is, 2-4-09. Coach Sumlin has done a great job recruiting for the 09’s freshman class. Rival ranks Houston @ #60. Ahead of WF, BC, Conn, Lou and Boise St.. (ACC & Big E top dogs all ranked teams.) C-USA’s Southern Miss is ranked 6 spots higher at #54. That will change on signing day when everyone knows who is going where. All said and done Coach Sumlin could rank out in the #40’s. TCU is ranked #44. Houston HS’s produce just as many top HS players as DFW HS‘s. GO COUGARS.

8 of the 22 commits are nationally ranked positional top 100’s by Rival.com. Key positions, QB, RB, WR, 2-OT‘s, OG, DT and DE. We already have a large number of starters returning and The passing game is loaded minus the lose of Hafner. (Love Ya Big Man miss yah! Thank you for the memories.)

The D will get better with the addition of 2 big boys to work into the DL rotation and returning players gain another year in Coach Sumlin’s D system. HOUSTON all system are GO!

The Cougars have to be a front-runner for C-USA’s 09’ title. Oklahoma State, Texas Tech and Southern Miss are awesome out of conference games for the computers. (Big 12 & SEC schools) I think, Coach has assembled enough roster depth to play a tough out schedule and win the South of C-USA. This may sound bold but the Cougars could be a top 20 team next year.

Coach is bringing back the glory years! Go COUG’S!  Save some money could be traveling long distances to next seasons bowl game.

A heads up: the UH Spring game is April 18, 09. I haven’t found out if it’s a freebee or there is a ticket charge. Regardless it is a great time!
